Medication Administration Training (MAT) classes are offered by an approved MAT Trainer and scheduled on an as needed basis.
MAT Training is required if you are a caregiver who administers actual medications. You must also be at least 18 years of age and have a current certification in Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) and First Aid.
If you are a licensed or registered day care provider or a legally exempt child care provider, who provides state subsidized child care, and you choose to administer medication to children in your care you must be in compliance with the Health and Infection Control regulations.
There is a fee associated with this training. Funding may be available thru OCFS for MAT for child care workers and legally exempt providers, who are providing publicly subsidized child care.
