COI provides a number of prevention services to assist families that are facing homelessness because of eviction, foreclosure, bankruptcy, utility arrears, family relationships, fire, or other natural disasters. Our Housing Support Specialists help customers match their needs to available housing in the area.
The assistance also includes a financial analysis that provides the customer guidelines for affordable housing (including how to estimate utility costs) and comparison rental cost data for the local community.
Please note, as of June 1st, 2021, New York State Office of Temporary and Disability Assistance opened the Emergency Rental Assistance Program (ERAP) website for tenants and landlords needing to apply for up to twelve months of rental arrears, and potentially utility arrears, for those who were affected by COVID, and who qualify. Please contact one of our Navigators at (716) 366-8176 x 3309 or visit the website listed below for more information.
