Join the USDA Team Nutrition for training webinars on hot topics related to the CACFP Meal Pattern requirements. All of these trainings count toward Specialty 1 or 2 for the CACFP Certification Program education requirements.

Mandated Reporter Resource Center

Mandated reporters can participate in this 3-hour web-based online training course at any time, 24/7. Progress is saved at the end of each section, so you can complete it at your own pace. Users learn definitions, indicators, and how to make a report to the New York Statewide Central Register. The course is user friendly, fully narrated, and available in both English and Spanish. This approved training meets the New York State Education Department mandatory requirements for Training in Child Abuse Identification and Reporting. It was updated to meet requirements pursuant to Social Services Law sections 413(5) and 413(6), as added by Part JJ of Chapter 56 of the Laws of 2021 and Chapter 646 of the Laws of 2023, to include information on Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACES), implicit bias, trauma, and guidance on how to identify an abused or maltreated child with an intellectual or developmental disability. 

 

Training Requirements

Section 390 of the New York Social Services Law and the Child Care and Development Block Grant Act require training for individuals in certain roles in child care programs. This requirement is included in OCFS’s child day care regulations.
