Dunkirk, NY – Chautauqua Opportunities, Inc. (COI), is actively seeking passionate, caring individuals who want to help lead the fight against poverty. COI’s Board of Directors follows a special tripartite structure, ensuring that diverse perspectives are included in the agency’s decision-making process with balanced representation from three key sectors:
- Target Sector: Community members representing low-income individuals and families, ensuring that the voices of those directly affected by poverty are included in the decision-making process. Board members may be low-income individuals or work for an agency that serves low-income residents of Chautauqua County.
- Public Sector: Public officials currently holding office or their designated representatives, including those from local, state, or federal government entities. If a sufficient number of elected officials are not available, appointed public officials may serve.
- Private Sector: Representatives from private organizations, including businesses, labor groups, and faith-based organizations, offering valuable resources, expertise, and community leadership.

Candidates will be considered for approval at the COI Annual Board Meeting in late June. While COI encourages all interested individuals to apply, board seats are limited, and each application will be carefully reviewed. Not all applicants will be selected.
