Over the past weekend, the Observer published comments that were made at a public meeting of the Dunkirk Common Council by Natalie Luczkowiak, who has been a member of COI’s Board of Directors for approximately two years. The comments made about a homeless individual were in direct opposition to COI’s mission and values. COI’s Board members are volunteers (not employees) and do not receive payment of any kind. Removal of a Board member may be done by the Board membership, not the CEO. These decisions are made only after talking to the parties involved and after careful consideration by the Board. Any action taken by the Board on this matter will be announced when the process has been completed. Thank you.
