According to the National Safety Council, the best way to avoid a heat related illness is to limit exposure outdoors.
Here are some tips to stay cool this summer:
• Air Conditioning – stay in your home.
• Drink plenty of fluids, avoid alcohol.
• Wear loose, lightweight clothing.
• Wear sunscreen if you are outside. Sunburn can affect the body to cool itself.
• Wear a hat!
• Take time to rest and cool down!
• Stay in the shade if you must be outdoors.
