Child Care Options
As a Child Care Resource and Referral Agency (CCRR), we provide services to parents and day care providers in Chautauqua County.
As you are looking for child care, you will be asked what kind of care you need, the ages of your children, the hours of care and any other specifics, such as special needs your children might have. Based on the information provided, a list of the best matched providers will be made available at no cost.
It is then up to you the parent, to contact the provider to set up an appointment for an initial visit. A checklist is also available to print and take with you to help plan for this process.
Print checklist and take with you when visiting a potential childcare provider.
Don’t be timid about checking references. Selecting a child care provider is one of the most important things you will ever do. Ask each provider for at least two parent references with their phone numbers. You will find most parents are happy to share information with other parents and can be a great resource.
Make a Decision
The time to be choosy is before you have chosen a provider so take your time and gather as much information as you can. If you are not comfortable with anyone whom you have met so far, keep looking. If you must use a provider temporarily, get your name on the waiting list of the provider you would prefer.
For Families with Special Needs
If your child has significant medical needs, it is important you choose your child care provider wisely. You will need to look for an environment which is right for your child’s need and a provider with whom you are comfortable.
