PROGRAM: Maternal and Child
Health Services DESCRIPTION OF PROGRAM / SERVICES
PROVIDED: The goal of the Maternal and Child Health
Services (MCHS) Department is to continually focus and work on the expansion
and integration of the Department so that individuals, whether for themselves
or their children, achieve the optimum health and nutrition status for
themselves that leads to healthier pregnancies and healthier infants and
children in the future. In
support of this goal, the MCHS Department offers a comprehensive package of
services that provides customers with access to a variety of programs through
one single point of entry. Services
range from Prenatal Health Education, Supplemental Foods and Nutrition
Education, Breastfeeding Support and Supplies, Breastfeeding Peer Counselors,
and access to free or low-cost Health Insurance, including Family/Child Health
Plus and Medicaid. Listed below
