PROGRAM: Housing Preservation Grant (HPG)

Description of Program / Service Provided:

This program is designed to assist homeowners with repairs and              rehabilitation, correction of health and safety issues and to improve access for disabled persons.

History:

• Established in 1992.
• Funded by USDA.
• Program dollars are leveraged with other county housing programs.
• To date the program as worked on 169 homes throughout Chautauqua County.
• Program reinvestment in Chautauqua County housing stock approximately one million dollars.

Fees: None

Eligibility Requirements: Home must be in a designated rural area excluding Celeron, Dunkirk, Falconer, Fredonia, Jamestown, and Lakewood

Intake Procedure:  Call for pre-qualification

Client Documentation Required:  Proof of ownership and a full marketable title, proof of income, your most recent paid tax receipt and proof of homeowner’s insurance
