DEPARTMENT: Health Services

PROGRAM: Home Care Training Program

Description of Program / Service Provided:

The Home Care curriculum is a 40-hour training course approved by New York State Department of Social Services.

The core training is offered to those individuals interested in becoming Personal Care Aides and wanting to work in a home care setting.  The training is provided by a Registered Nurse and includes specialized training in care of the Alzheimer's client and care of the developmentally disabled child.

Applicants must be at least 18 years of age.  Reference checks and criminal background checks are completed at the time of employment on all applicants being considered.

Training will be held monthly at sites located in both ends of Chautauqua County.

Those individuals who are already trained and have a current CNA, PCA, or HHA are encouraged to apply; we currently have openings for those already trained.
