DIVISION: Youth & Family Services SERVICE AREA: Family Development Training Description of Program/Service Provided: A New York statewide initiative developed by Cornell University, Family Development Credentialing (FDC) training provides front-line workers with the skills and competencies necessary to support individuals and families in attaining a healthy self-reliance and interdependence within their communities. The strength-based and family-focused approach helps persons to achieve long-lasting self-sufficiency. Participants attend 110 hours of classroom training, practicing new skills and developing a portfolio under the guidance of a field advisor. Participants can earn up to 9 college credits upon successful completion of the FDC course, which concludes with an exam and portfolio review by Cornell University staff. Site Location:
