Position Title:  After School Assistant

Pay Grade: 2

Class: Regular Part Time

Rate:  8.54

Positions Available:  Silver Creek

Summary:  Assures effective After School Program through assisting implementation of NYS OCFS school age regulations, program policies and procedures.  Facilitates positive relationships with students, parents, school staff, subcontractor and community partners.  Supports program and agency mission.

Minimum Qualifications:   Associate’s degree or equivalent from a two-year College or technical school; or six months to one year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.  Ability to write intermediate correspondence.  Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.  Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.  Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.  Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but involved written or oral instructions.  Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variable in standardized situations.  Must have strong computer skills, including work processing, data entry and spreadsheet in a windows environment.  Ability to develop and maintain & engage in positive relationships with people from various backgrounds.  Strong teaming skills and goal oriented.  Continuous professional development expected.  Bilingual preferred.  Must be able to obtain and maintain an SCR Child Abuse Clearance, criminal background check and a health physical including TB.  Must have a valid NYS driver’s license with the ability to travel throughout the county and possess the ability to lift 15-25 lbs.

Position Title:   Health Nurse

Pay Grade: 7

Class: Regular Full Time

Rate: 14.56

Positions Available:  Dunkirk

Summary: Provide opportunity for optimum health to families and children through nutrition, health education, screenings and referrals to healthcare providers based on assessment and need.

Minimum Qualifications:  LPN Degree required, RN Degree preferred.  Knowledge of health and wellness focus beneficial.  Experience in public health-prenatal field; knowledge of health, nutrition, local & state regulations.  Ability to maintain positive and cooperative relationships internally and externally.  Excellent organizational skills including documentation and charting.  Experience in interviewing and engagement skills.  Ability to obtain NYS Central Register and Criminal Conviction Clearance; current driver’s license; ability to travel within NYS and occasional trips outside NYS.  Must be able to obtain and maintain initial health physical including TB test, and then bi-annually thereafter.  Lifting requirements up to 50 lbs.  Must be flexible in work schedule.

 

Position Title:   Community Health Worker Coordinator

Pay Grade: 9

Class: Regular Full Time

Rate: 19.50

Positions Available:  Jamestown (with Countywide travel)

Summary: Facilitates community outreach, linkages, planning and coordination of services for target population in alignment with agency initiatives.  Assures and promotes the delivery of high quality services.  Supports agency mission. 

Minimum Qualifications:   Bachelors’ Degree in Human Services or related field, Public Health Nurse or MSW with experience in public health, community organization and clinical case management.  Data system experience with strong organizational, communication and interpersonal skills.  Current NYS Drivers’ license with the ability to travel countywide required.  Must have flexibility in work schedule.

 

Position Title:   Administrative Assistant  (Housing and Energy)

Pay Grade: 5

Class: Regular Full Time

Rate: 12.12

Positions Available:  Jamestown

Summary: Provides administrative support to Supervisor and maintains thorough procedures.  Coordinates and provides support to all advisory boards and/or the community boards.

Minimum Qualifications:  High School diploma or equivalent required, Associates Degree preferred.  Strong customer service, interpersonal and team building skills.  Excellent organizational and written/verbal communication skills with the ability to problem solve.  Must be flexible in work schedule.   Have a valid driver’s license with the ability to travel throughout the county and the ability to lift 50 lbs.

 

Position Title:   Teacher

Pay Grade: E7A

Class: Regular Full Time

Positions Available:  Jamestown

Summary:  Assures the implementation and integration of the Head Start Performance Standards by planning and implementing developmentally appropriate activities.    Assures adherence to NYS Daycare Licensing Regulations.  Serves as an active member of the COI team by supporting COI objectives.    Supports the site team and countywide program mission.

Minimum Qualifications:   Associate’s degree (A.A.) in Early Childhood Education or equivalent from a two year College with a concentration in Early Childhood.  Adequate computer skills required.  Ability to organize and maintain an appropriate learning environment.  Ability to work on a team.  Ability to work well with parents of diverse backgrounds.  Good verbal and written communication skills.  Valid driver’s license with the ability to travel throughout the county.  Ability to obtain and maintain initial health physical including TB test, and then bi-annually.  Ability to lift 50 pounds.  Must be able to obtain and maintain an SCR child abuse clearance and have a clear criminal conviction record.  Meets OCFS training requirements and maintains training logs.  Flexibility in work schedule.

 

Position Title:   Group Leader

Pay Grade: 6

Class: Regular Full Time

Rate: 13.65

Positions Available:  Silver Creek and Dunkirk

Summary:  Implement day to day schedules and activities following OCFS guidelines as instructed by after school coordinator.  Point of contact for families and school staff at an after school program in the absence of the site coordinator that helps with meeting targets of after school programs as well as be lead staff on selected shifts implementing all procedures of OCFS/OMH at the safe house in the absence of the coordinator and participate in youth services projects.

Minimum Qualifications:   Associates Degree in Child Development, recreation in related field or high school diploma with 2 years experience working with youth required. Strong interpersonal and good team building skills.  Excellent organizational and communication skills needed. Ability to problem solve and be flexible in your work schedule. Valid driver’s license and the ability to travel throughout county. Must have the ability to obtain and maintain initial health physical and then every 2 years after. Must have the ability to obtain and maintain SCR Child Abuse Clearance Criminal Background check. Have the ability to lift 50 lbs and have reliable transportation with the ability to travel throughout the county.

Position Title:   Energy Auditor Write Up Specialist

Pay Grade: 7

Class: Regular Full Time

Rate: 14.56

Positions Available:  Jamestown

Summary:  Audit residential housing, perform pre and post testing, do all necessary health and safety tests as required.  Inspection of units, a Write-up job specs and Cost estimates.  Analyzes blueprints, specifications, proposals and other documentation to prepare time, cost and labor estimates for products, projects or services.

Minimum Qualifications: High School or GED required and five years working in field or equivalent experience.  Associates degree preferred.  Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measures using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals.  Strong interpersonal, communication and customer relations skills.  Strong computer skills, including word processing, data entry and spreadsheet in a windows environment.  Goal oriented; have strong teaming skills and the ability to develop, maintain and engage in positive relationships with people from various backgrounds.  Frequently required to use hands to finger, handle or feel: reach with hands and arms, push or pull, climb ladders up to 35 feet, climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl, sit and stand.  Must be able to perform work in all weather conditions.  Valid driver’s license with the ability to travel.  Driving record acceptable to agency insurance carrier. Continuous professional development expected. Bilingual preferred. Must have flexibility in work schedule and ability to lift and/or move 50lbs. and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 lbs.

 

Position Title:   Kitchen Assistant

Summary:  Assists head cook and assistant cook with food preparation, and delivery for Head Start children and customers. Assists with cleanup of kitchen, dishes, and preparation areas.

Minimum Qualifications:  High School Diploma or GED. Knowledge of health and sanitation procedures and practices.  Must have a valid NYS Driver’s License and the ability to travel throughout the county. Ability to do some heavy lifting (up to 50lbs). Must be in good physical condition.

Summary:  Identify and assist individuals and families to access needed preventive and primary health care services, provide assistance and referrals for other support services and to conduct basic health assessments.

Minimum Qualifications:  Complete Community Health Worker Program curriculum training.  Must attend other education and training programs to develop and maintain skills.  Have the ability to complete referral forms and maintain accurate documentation in case records.  Strong writing skill to complete adequate documentation.  Strong inter-personal communication skills.  Creative problem solving and creative thinking skills.  Must possess a valid driver’s license and have the ability to travel throughout the county.  The ability to work a flexible schedule.  Bi-lingual (preferred but not mandatory)

 

Position Title:   Assistant Head Cook

Summary: To assist customers at moderate risk toward economic and social self-sufficiency.  To track, measure, and evaluate individual and collective progress using life matrices and continuums of care.

Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in human services related field preferred and/or 1-3 years experience. Strong interpersonal, communication, engagement, and customer relations skills are required. Strong computer skills, including word processing, data entry and spreadsheet in a windows environment. Must be goal oriented and have the ability to develop and maintain positive relationships with people from various backgrounds. Bilingual (Spanish) preferred. Must have strong teaming skills. Continuous professional development expected, including attainment of the FDC. Must have the ability to obtain and maintain NYS SCR Clearance, OMH criminal background check, and Criminal Conviction Clearance. Must be able to maintain substantial, individual supervision of children and youth. Must have the ability to lift up to 50 pounds with or without reasonable accommodation. Must have a valid Drivers license and reliable transportation with the ability to travel throughout the county. And have the ability to stand for long periods of time and frequently go up and down stairs and flexibility in work schedule. Must be able to clear initial and on-going physical exams and TB Testing.

 

Position Title:   Maintenance Laborer

Pay Grade: 3

Class:  As Needed/ON Call 

Rate: 10.04

Summary:  Performs cleaning, janitorial and residential maintenance and repair services.

Minimum Qualifications: Must be able to perform physical labor with unrestricted lifting ability without reasonable accommodations.  Frequently required to use hands and fingers to handle or reach, push, pull.  Climb ladders, balance, and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl.  Ability to pass fingerprinting, SCR and Criminal Conviction Clearance.  Valid driver’s license with reliable transportation and a flexible work schedule which may include holidays and weekends.

Position Title:  TEACHER ASSISTANT

Summary: Performs any combination of following instructional tasks in the classroom to assisting teaching staff in establishing and maintaining a learning environment according to performance standards and program curriculum by performing a variety of tasks.

Minimum Qualifications:  High School Diploma or GED plus one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience, mandated. Must obtain CDA credential and work towards obtaining an associate’s degree, with an Early Childhood Certification. AAS degree in Early Childhood Education preferred. Computer skills required. Must be able to obtain and maintain an SCR Child Abuse Clearance and have a clear criminal conviction record, as well as, health physical (biannually). Must meet OCFS training requirements and maintain an OCFS training log. Must be able to maintain substantial, individual supervision of children. Must have a valid NYS driver’s license and the ability to travel throughout the county.  Must have reliable transportation and an acceptable driving record. Must be able to occasionally lift 50lbs and have a flexible work schedule.
