National Child Development Expert Dr. T. Berry Brazelton to hold a Free Parenting Seminar at Jamestown Community College

Dr. T. Berry Brazelton National Child Development Expert Dr. T. Berry Brazelton together with his National Seminar Series Colleagues, will be presenting a free Parent Evening Talk at J.C.C.’s Scharmann Theater in Jamestown,N.Y.on Wednesday, June 16th at 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.  

Dr. Brazelton’s presentation will focus on the many stresses parents face today and the pressures imposed on them to perform. Based on his many interviews with parents, he will offer solutions for relieving these stresses. His talk will be based on an attachment model, with the goal of establishing healthy self-esteem in both the parent and the child.

Dr. Brazelton is credited with establishing the Child Development Unit (a pediatric training and research center) at Children’s Hospital in Boston, M.A. and he has appeared on national television shows such as Good Morning America. Dr. Brazelton is also a regular contributor to Family Circle Magazine.

Pre-registration is required by Wednesday, June 2, 2004  as seating is limited and will be based on a first come, first serve basis. To pre-register call: 1-800-424-4532 or (716) 366-8176 to reach the  Chautauqua Child Care Council. Persons interested in attending this event must be pre-registered to attend.

Free bus transportation will be provided for residents living in Northern Chautauqua County. A schedule of pick-up locations and times will be sent to those who register.

The event is being sponsored by the Chautauqua Child Care Council, a program of Chautauqua Opportunities, Inc. Partial funding for this event is provided by the New York State Bureau of Early Childhood Services, and the Office of Children & Family Services.  Additional major contributors include: Dr. Tariq Khan, Chautauqua County Association for the Education of Young Children, Chautauqua County Head Start/Early Head Start, Chautauqua County Even Start, and Chautauqua County Department of Social Services.
