PROGRAM: Housing Opportunities for Persons With
AIDS (HOPWA)
Description Program / Service Provided:
Long term tenant based rental assistance program that
provides monthly rental subsidies to households based on their income as
well as short term assistance to households facing an eviction, foreclosure
or a shut-off on their utility services.
In order to be eligible for HOPWA, a person living in the
household must be either HIV positive or have been diagnosed with AIDS,
experiencing a housing crisis, be a resident of Chautauqua County, and be at
least 80% of the median income.
