What is Mobile Crisis?

Supportive Housing

The Mobile Crisis Outreach Program is a unique program in Chautauqua County that is designed to assist individuals who may be experiencing a situational, emotional or mental health crisis by providing crisis intervention throughout the county.

Services provided include situational assessment and crisis intervention in the form of telephone and on-site contacts, and referral to appropriate services as indicated.

Mobile Crisis receives referrals from community mental health agencies, law enforcement, crisis lines and family and friends to name a few, concerning people who appear to be in crisis. The program is designed to be available when the services of more traditional programs are not.

Mobile Crisis services are available M-F 5pm to 9am, and 24 hours a day on holidays and weekends. Any individual in Chautauqua County is eligible for services. The program is completely voluntary, confidential, and there is never a fee for services.

The Mobile Crisis Outreach Program is a program of Chautauqua Opportunities Inc., funded by a grant provided by the state Office of Mental Health. Chautauqua Opportunities Inc. provides services through a contract with the county’s Department of Mental Hygiene. For more information on Mobile Crisis Outreach and how to access services, telephone 488-9724.

COI has partnered with the Office of Temporary and Disability Assistance to provide Case Management support services under the Supportive Housing Grant for young adults.

Services with the case manager may include housing counseling, budgeting and educational and employment services.

The grant supports the case manager in providing life skills training that assists families in transitional housing. The outcome of the program is to mobilize the resources necessary to move families to self-sufficiency.
