The recognition dinner began with a “meet and greet” followed by the dinner and ceremony. Through the dedication and hard work of these child care providers, parents living throughout our county, are given the opportunity to find and maintain employment while their children are provided with quality child care. The Chautauqua Child Care Council recognized licensed/registered child care providers in: Family Day Care: registered child care given in a person’s home for 5 to 8 children; Group Family Day Care: licensed child care given in a person’s home by two providers for 10 to 14 children; Day Care Center: licensed child care that groups children by age with a child/adult ratio; and School Age Child Care: registered child care given before and after school with a child/adult ratio. In Chautauqua County there are nearly 115 registered/licensed family and group family child care providers, 13 licensed child care centers, and 13 school-age child care programs, with the ability to serve over 3,200 children.
