COI ANNOUNCES STATE WIDE HOME CARE AWARD RECIPIENT

In a statewide campaign to seek out “Heroes in the Home” – the very best among special caregivers who provide care in the home, COI has proudly announced one of their employees has received this statewide award.

The New York State Association of Health Care Providers, Inc. (HCP) launched the “Heroes in the Home Statewide Caregiver Recognition Program” as a way to recognize and honor those who provide care in the home and to increase public awareness of home care and its workers. Awards have been presented in two categories: Professional (registered nurses and licensed practical nurses) and Paraprofessional (home health aides and personal care aides). The awards were presented to 81 recipients at the annual HCP Home Care Management Conference and Exhibition at the Wyndham Wind Watch Hotel in Hauppauge, Long Island.

Patricia Kibbe,LPN

Patricia Kibbe, LPN, of Dunkirk was one of the 81 recipients selected to receive this statewide honor. Pat has worked with the Chautauqua Opportunities, Inc. Home Care Program since 1992. In that time she has worked in a variety of capacities including Home Health Aide, LPN, and LPN field supervisor. She volunteers as a member of the Quality Improvement Committee and assists with In-Service planning.

“Pat is very conscientious and dependable which is very important in a home care setting. She consistently demonstrates a genuine concern for her patients, and always puts their health and safety needs first.” stated Ann Massar, RN, Deputy Director of Health Services for Chautauqua Opportunities, Inc.

The recipients of the awards were nominated by Home Care Agencies and then the nominations were reviewed by an HCP work group and finalists were determined by an advisory board of national health policy and home care industry leaders. HCP is a statewide trade association representing approximately 600 offices of home care agencies (both licensed and certified), hospices, and related health organizations.
